Ellipse IPL Skin Rejuvenation

ELLIPSE IPL Skin Rejuvenation Facial Treatment

Full Face €150    Add hands €35     Add Neck €35

Course of 4 Full Face Skin Rejuvenation €450 (Save €150)

This treatment is an Osborne speciality and one of the most effective treatments we perform in the clinic. I would highly recommend having a course of  peels in conjunction with this IPL Skin Rejuvenation for maximum results – an absolute favourite for our brides to start at 6 months before their wedding day.

This treatment also includes a SkinCeuticals Facial pre and post IPL procedure to ensure our clients comfort and really fabulous results.

A consultation and patch test is required before having this IPL Skin Rejuvenation. A course of 4 treatments are recommended at 4 week intervals with a peel 2 weeks after each treatment to truly maximise results.

Pre-treatment with an AHA / BHA / Vitamin A / Tyrosinase Inhibitor may be required as part of your homecare routine for at least 2 weeks beforehand depending on treatment for specific skin conditions, again this will be discussed during initial consultation.

Ellipse IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a light-based and non-invasive treatment sometimes referred to as ‘IPL photo-facial’ or ‘IPL photo-rejuvenation’.

This technology uses filters to produce intense pulses of specific wavelengths of light energy to penetrate skin tissue and create heat, targeting age spots, sun damage and skin damage in a highly controlled way.

The body’s natural processes remove the tissue targeted for noticeable improvements in skin tone and overall skin appearance. Because IPL photo-rejuvenation also stimulates collagen in your skin, results continue to improve over time.

What can Ellipse IPL treatment be used for?

IPL photorejuvenation is so gentle and non-invasive, and is usually recommended for treating the face, neck, chest and hands. Ellipse IPL can treat a wide range of facial imperfections simultaneously such as skin discolouration, age spots, freckles, sun damage, and mottled pigmentation. It also improves enlarged pores and dull complexions so that skin is smoother, revitalised and feels firmer.

How soon will I notice results?

The Ellipse IPL photo-rejuvenation treatment removes skin imperfections and stimulates collagen and elastin production over several treatments. Some skin problems such as shallow pigmentation and age spots or sun spots may only need 2-3 intense pulsed light treatments, with the best results usually obtained after 4-6 sessions with 4 weeks in between.

How long does Ellipse IPL photo-rejuvenation treatment last?

Due to the stimulation of collagen, skin improvement is gradual over time with long-lasting results.

What should I expect?

A patch test will be performed at your initial consultation to determine skin suitability and maximise results. A cold gel is applied to the area to be treated and patients are given special dark glasses or googles to wear while the pulses of light are applied.45

The actual application of IPL is quite short and takes between 5 – 10 minutes to perform, however at the Osborne Skin Clinic we have added for maximum benefits a SkinCeuticas facial pre and post IPL. In total the full treatment takes aprox. 45 minute but Valerie will discuss a bespoke treatment plan with you during your initial consultation.

Is there any downtime?

There is little to no downtime and you can resume your normal activities after treatment. We insist on no make up post treatment we can however apply a medicated tinted SPF if you have to go back to work.

I’m interested in having Ellipse IPL treatment but will it hurt?

Many people find their procedure at The Osborne Skin Clinic more comfortable than expected. We pride ourselves on over 25 years of experience as well as being highly skilled and trained practitioners.

The treatment is gentle and the only sensation you will expect is a brief ‘stinging’ when the pulses of light are applied. You may experience some redness after IPL treatment but this should disappear within a few hours and you can usually apply make up right away.

If you have been on holiday at least 3 weeks prior to having IPL treatment or going into the sun within the 3 weeks following the treatment, we can not perform the treatment due to melanin activity. You must apply broad spectrum sun screen everyday pre and post treatment.

This photo-rejuvenation treatment also stimulates the natural production of collagen within the body, which is so important for firm and youthful-looking skin

Pigmented lesions can vary in size, shape and colour. It is always important to ensure that the lesion is not malignant before initiating the treatment. We will refer you to a dermatologist when we feel it is necessary.

Be good to your skin. You’ll wear it every day for the rest of your life.

TREATMENT OPTIONS

Diffuse Redness

Flushing, erythrosis, blotchiness and rosacea appears when the skin’s vessels are weakened. The cause of this is mainly genetic but may worsen by prolonged sun exposure. The redness often increases with age.

Sun-induced Pigment (dyspigmentation)

The most common sun induced pigment are solar lentigines and ephelides. Though sun exposure is the main contributor ethnicity and genetic predisposition should also be considered.

Fine Lines & Wrinkles

Wrinkles or rhytids enhanced by the degradation in skin quality are a natural part of the skin aging process where the skin becomes thinner and loses its elasticity.

Treatment available with PR & PL type applicators.

Skin Texture / Pore Size

The aging process leads to a degradation of skin quality. As the skin ages, it becomes thinner and loses its elasticity making the skin appear more rough, uneven and pores tend to become enlarged. The degraded skin texture and enlarged pores on face can make the skin appear unhealthy and aged. Enlarged pores will also increase other skin care problems, such as blackheads, especially for people with oily skin.

Treatment available with PR type applicators.

Poikiloderma of Civatte

Poikiloderma of Civatte is a condition that mainly affects the sides of the neck and the upper chest. It consists of a combination of diffuse redness, and pigment changes. Similar changes may also be seen in skin that has been treated previously with radiotherapy. Poikiloderma of Civatte develops with age, the exact cause is unknown, but contributing factors include fair skin, accumulated sun exposure, photosensitising components of cosmetics and toiletries, especially perfumes, and hormonal factors.

A consultation and patch test is required for this treatment at a cost of €30 which is fully refundable from your 1st treatment.
